Oil and Gas - E&P
Offshore conventional Oil and Gas production remains a critical component of Europe’s energy strategy and finds itself with a exceptional set of challenges since the dramatic fall in the oil price. E&P operations are complex not only because of the offshore environment but also due to number of key service company partners, logistical constraints and sheer volume of activities required to keep a facility producing in a safe and reliable manner.
OCP have worked extensively in E&P for over 20 years. We are experienced in both onshore and offshore operations for large IOCs and growing independent producers. Our focus includes supporting an increase in production efficiency, reducing OPEX costs, optimising core processes, increasing technician wrench-time productivity, managing capacity constraints and installing advanced techniques such Integrated Asset Planning (IAP).

Oil and Gas - Downstream
The Refining Industry continues to face numerous challenges in an ever increasingly competitive market place. Growing government regulations, the need to bring operational costs down to maintain margins and the ability to operate a highly complex asset base in a safe way are putting pressure on the industry. Add to that the need to deliver cost efficient capital projects and the requirement to execute effective turnaround projects and we have a sector under constant pressure to continue to improve. OCP have worked with many refining operations in Europe and supported programmes focused at eliminating plant inefficiencies through the practical installation of Lean principles. This has enabled our clients to fundamentally enhance many of their core business process such as reducing turn-around cycle times and operational cost expenditure together with increasing the levels of collaborative working across the organisation.

Oil and Gas - Service Companies
Oil and Gas - Service Companies
Service companies are increasingly becoming strategic partners for many Oil and Gas operators. The fall in the oil price has however put many of these relationships under pressure with operators demanding drastic cuts in rates and an expectation of pushing commercial risk on to them. This creates real pressure on service company margins at a time when customers are looking for innovative approaches which will reduce costs. There is a general recognition that to fundamentally change the cost model, Operators and Service companies must find a way to collaborate and find a genuine win-win approach. OCP have worked extensively for both Operators and Service companies and are ideally placed to facilitate the development of an enhanced and mutually beneficial working relationships. Our operational strategy approach will enable a comprehensive and independent review of critical business processes using the skill and knowledge of parties from both organisations.

Chemicals
As a result of a long history of pressure on the industry’s input prices and high levels of competition driving price challenges, there has been a persistent drive across the industry to drive up levels of efficiency and eke out improvement to margins. Capital investment is high but so is the need to fully leverage this and position companies to meet the ever-increasing levels of commoditisation and competitive threats. An economic cost-base will always be a key requirement and to get there organisations are looking to exploit value, differentiate where possible and produce consistently with high levels of plant utilisation and commercial efficiency supported by a right- sized SG&A structure.

Manufacturing Industries
Many clients have invested heavily in standardised Operational Excellence roll-outs and have achieved substantial performance gains, however many are finding these gains starting to plateau. We see clients looking for new tools, or the next best methodology without their organisations truly understanding what they have and therefore not implementing existing methods to their full potential. We help organisations move from understanding Lean to becoming a Lean learning organisation where the Lean system goes beyond production, into all aspects of the organisation, as leaders take the responsibility for reinforcing Lean behaviours by building a deep understanding of the Lean operating system into their teams, focusing on creating a high performing organisational climate.
In the sector we often support business improvement areas such as, Production Optimisation, Maintenance & Reliability, Supply Chain Optimisation, Organisational Effectiveness and Performance Management.

Consumer Industries
The Consumer sector is constantly under pressure to deliver operational improvements in quality, service and cost. Companies are increasing investments in Global Operational Excellence but insufficient attention is paid to the actual implementation on the ground and ensuring true bottom-line delivery of results with significant financial benefits. There is insufficient focus on getting local resources to work in new ways, so changes are not sustainable.
End-to-end solutions are particularly relevant for companies looking to enhance “Route to Consumer” where demand planning and forecast accuracy is led from the front end of the business, integrated with an optimised supply chain delivery capability. Interface management between entities and departments is key to avoid the next level of bottlenecks. Only the top few Consumer companies actually invest in the human capacity to make this type of sustainable step-change happen.
Our support covers areas such as Production Optimisation, Maintenance & Reliability, Supply Chain Optimisation and Product Innovation.
